This Little Piggy Lyrics

Composer / Yazar: Traditional

One of the oldest English toe-counting rhymes, with a version printed as early as 1728. It is traditionally played with a baby's toes — starting at the big toe and wiggling each one in turn until the "wee wee wee" tickle up to the chin. Best for ages 0–3. As a lap game it is far more than entertainment: the toe-by-toe touch builds body awareness and the tickle-anticipation teaches infants cause and effect ("the same thing happens every time"), one of the earliest forms of predictive learning. The one-toe-per-line structure also seeds one-to-one correspondence, the foundation of later counting. Use it during diaper changes or after bath time to turn routine care into bonding and sensory play. This little piggy went to market,
This little piggy stayed home,
This little piggy had roast beef,
This little piggy had none.
And this little piggy went...
"Wee wee wee!" all the way home.
